The sound of thunder is like the deep, resounding thwack of a rubber ball smacking hard against a concrete wall—sharp, sudden, and alive with energy. It echoes, rolling outward in waves, much like the way the impact of the ball sends ripples of sound through an empty handball court. Sometimes, it’s a crisp, clean crack, like a perfect shot landing flush against the sweet spot. Other times, it’s a heavy, rumbling boom, like the ball hitting just off-center, sending a shudder through the ground, lingering in the air before fading into silence.
The thunder started as a low rumble, like a distant, off-center hit on a handball court – that thwump sound when the ball connects with the wall, but with a deeper, more resonant vibration. It built quickly, the rumble intensifying into a sharp crack, like a perfectly executed kill shot that echoes across the court, followed by a rolling boom that spread out like the sound of multiple balls being slammed against the wall in rapid succession, each impact slightly delayed, creating a cascading, echoing effect. The final crash was a deafening BANG, as if a giant, invisible hand had slammed a whole rack of handballs against the wall at once, the force reverberating through the air and leaving a lingering buzz, like the vibration of the wall itself after a particularly powerful hit. This is the meaning of BLUE THUNDER HANDBALL. Can you feel it!
